The Bible has been used as material for lecture after lecture on a variety of subjects throughout history. This Bible Study will give a summary of how this has been done using a passage from The Bible that not many people have either read, or that they don’t like because it exposes their sins to others. It is to be noted that these are commands for us to follow as True Christians, and if you are not a True Christian, then you will have a desire to follow these commands. However, if you are not a True Christian, but just a CINO (Christian In Name Only), or a False Christian, then this will offend you greatly.
What if you are not a Christian at all? Then it is my hope that you understand the difference between True Christians and False Christians, so that you don’t wrongly classify all Christians as being the same because of some that claim to be like that, but do things that are not Christian-like. This passage is found in Hebrews 13:1-25 with references to Deuteronomy 31:6, 8, Joshua 1:5, and Psalm 118:6 here below:
Hebrews 13:1-25 NKJV
1 Let brotherly love continue. 2 Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels. 3 Remember the prisoners as if chained with them – those who are mistreated – since you yourselves are in the body also. 4 Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge. 5 Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” 6 So we may boldly say: “The Lord is my Helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?” 7 Remember those who rule over you, who have spoken The Word of God to you, whose faith follow, considering the outcome of their conduct.
8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. 9 Do not be carried about with various and strange doctrines. For it is good that the heart be established by grace, not with foods which have not profited those who have been occupied with them. 10 We have an altar from which those who serve the tabernacle have no right to eat. 11 For the bodies of those animals, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned outside the camp. 12 Therefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people with His own blood, suffered outside the gate. 13 Therefore let us go forth to Him, outside the camp, bearing His reproach. 14 For here we have no continuing city, but we seek The One to come.
15 Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name. 16 But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased. 17 Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you. 18 Pray for us; for we are confident that we have a good conscience, in all things desiring to live honorably. 19 But I especially urge you to do this, that I may be restored to you the sooner. 20 Now may The God of peace Who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that Great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, 21 make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to Whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.
22 And I appeal to you, brethren, bear with the word of exhortation, for I have written to you in few words. 23 Know that our brother Timothy has been set free, with whom I shall see you if he comes shortly. 24 Greet all those who rule over you, and all the saints. Those from Italy greet you. 25 Grace be with you all. Amen.
Deuteronomy 31:6, 8 NKJV
6 “Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for The Lord your God, He is The One Who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.” 8 “And The Lord, He is The One Who goes before you. He will be with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.”
Joshua 1:5 NKJV
5 “No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you.
Psalm 118:6 NKJV
6 The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?
We see starting in Hebrews 13:1 that we are to continue in brotherly love. This means to keep loving each other as we love God. This does not mean to exclude someone because you don’t like how they dress, because of their past, and/or for any other reasons of exclusion that is not specific, such as only men to be at a men’s prayer meeting, or only women to be at a women’s prayer meeting.
If your church does this, then you are part of a False Church, and if you also do this, then you are False Christian. A True Church is a church that obeys what The Bible teaches at all times. We are all to continue in brotherly love. We see in Hebrews 13:2 that we are to entertain those who are not like us, hence strangers. This does not mean to put on shows, plays, concerts, and so forth at all.
This simply means to be hospitable to everyone, to tend to their needs, and/or to feed them. This further continues on about brotherly love. Failure to do this, and/or failure to entertain properly by doing things that are not proper as mentioned above simply shows that you are revealing yourself to be false in your lifestyle in the church. We see in Hebrews 13:3 that we are to remember those who are incarcerated.
This means we are to not count off those who are incarcerated because all of us have broken the law at some point in our lives, and the breaking of the law will get you time in prison. We are to keep reaching out these people and to help them in life because no one else will do this at all. Furthermore, 90% of the population have been incarcerated, so that means you could lose 90% of all people from coming to your church.
We see in Hebrews 13:4 that marriage is to be honorable among all, and the bed undefiled along with how fornicators, and adulterers will be judged by God. Yet, there are churches that teach that it is ok for men to get married to men, women to get married to women, men to have multiple wives, men to have multiple husbands, women to have multiple husbands, women to have multiple wives, to not have to get married at all, and/or even to swap spouses.
These are all abominations to God and are all sins of the most depraved nature even in today. Failure to obey the command, and/or failure to stand against these evil things just makes you a False Christian. No True Christian will ever participate, and/or support these evil things. We see in Hebrews 13:5 that we are to let our conduct be without covetousness and to be content with what we have as well.
This simply means to be happy with what you have and not to try to live like the Jones’ at all. We learn that it is because The Lord has said that He will never leave us, nor forsake us. This is quoted from Deuteronomy 31:6, 8, and Joshua 1:5 as you can see above. There is nothing wrong with wanting nice things, but when that is all you think about, and/or talk about you are showing others you care more about those things than being grateful for what you do have in life.
Do you know who else always wants more things? Thieves so they can sell more things to make even more money. Coveting is the beginning of greed and greed is the beginning of a life of misery and not being satisfied at all. Therefore it is a sin to start down this path and failure to do so means that you are a False Christian.
We see in Hebrews 13:6 that we are able to boldly say that The Lord is our Helper, and that we shall not fear. This is quoted from Psalm 118:6. This is saying that we are to have confidence in The Lord only and not in anything else. There are False Churches that teach that The Lord is not enough to sustain us, and that He does not have any power any more.
Why doesn’t The Lord provide you with money to pay your bills? He has provided you with the ability to go out and apply for a job, to work for money, and to be able to pay your own bills. So, what is the problem? The problem is that you think God must hold your hand at every part of your life. Man up if you are man, and woman up if you are a woman. Get a job and rely on The Lord for your needs. He will provide a way for you to get what you need and that is how He provides.
We see in Hebrews 13:7 that we are to remember those who rule over us who have spoken The Word of God to us. This does not mean we are to complain when our pastors preach the truth of The Bible, and/or that we must demand that our pastors only tell us what we want to hear in order that our ears may be tickled. Do you know who else makes these demands? Satan is the one who makes these demands as well.
We also see that we are to consider their conduct, and to follow their faith. This means we are not to just agree with our pastors without verifying what they say is actually true. This is part of the reason we are commanded to study The Bible as well in our lives. It is so we can see if what is being preached to us is true, and if it is, then we are to follow this teaching, and the faith that is part of it.
We see in Hebrews 13:8 that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. There are False Churches that claim that Jesus Christ changes all the time, and that He is gender-fluid. This is garbage straight from the pits of hell, and the lies of demons as well as Satan. Jesus Christ was a man. He was not transgendered, transsexual, gender-fluid, and/or any other nonsense politically correct term there may be about these things.
We see in Hebrews 13:9 that we are not to be carried away with various, and strange doctrines. That is because it is only good for our hearts to be established by grace. This means we are to do what those who are False Christians do in having Pagan, and Heathen rituals, and/or religious holidays, which are also called holydays. We see that none of these things will profit us as True Christians.
Have you ever heard a doctor say, “I was able to save the patient because of what they ate”? No, and that will never happen. That is what it is deemed foolish for True Christians to follow such insane practices that don’t benefit us at all. We see in Hebrews 13:10 that those who serve the tabernacle have no right to eat. This means that in church today that those who tend to the church are not to steal from the church.
However, there are False Churches that teach that it is ok to take from the Children’s Ministry to fund a night at a strip club. Only people with sick minds would stoop that low to steal from the church to support a lifestyle of sin instead of something that is needed in the community, such as a Children’s Ministry. We see in Hebrews 13:11 that the bodies of animals are brought to the sanctuary, and are burned outside the camp.
This means we are to confess our sins to our congregation, and to leave them outside of the church to never be picked back up again. This is how we burn these animals of our sinful desires. This doesn’t mean to get drunk on Saturday night, and to go to church on Sunday morning like you have not sinned, only to get drunk again the next Saturday night. It means to stop getting drunk on Saturday night and to never get drunk again.
We see in Hebrews 13:12 that because of our sins that Jesus Christ had to suffer in our place outside of the gate. This means that He did not die for our sins for us to keep on sinning. He died for our sins once. All churches who teach differently are False Churches, and are teaching the doctrines of demons as well as Satan.
We see in Hebrews 13:13 that we are to go to Jesus Christ to lay our sins down before Him to never pick them up. There are False Churches that teach that it is ok to confess your sins in church, but you are allowed to sin after your confess. What is the point of teaching this? It is to follow their False God called Satan. Anything less than following what Jesus Christ taught us, and what The Bible teaches us is all lies from the pits of hell.
We see in Hebrews 13:14 that we do not have a city where we claim is our own city at all. There are False Churches that teach that if you do not go to their church, then you are going to burn in hell. This is claiming something as your own city. It is perfectly fine to say you have a hometown, or home city, and to have your own home church that you attend regularly. However, it becomes sin when you tell others that they are going to burn in hell because they don’t go to your church.
This further goes into the realms of anything that telling anyone that if they don’t believe like you do, then they will burn in hell. The only people who will be burning in hell are those who teach these false doctrines, and they are called False Christians. We see in Hebrews 13:15 that we are to offer sacrifices of praise to God. There are False Churches that teach that you must make sacrifices to Satan instead.
That is just like eating certain foods because your church teaches you falsely to do so in life. What profit do you gain for making sacrifices to Satan? There is no profit at all in doing this. Do you want to know how you get to heaven? It is by living to the best of your abilities, and knowledge by what The Bible teaches you as well as asking God to forgive you of your sins along with stop doing these sins.
Do you want to know how you get to hell? It is by doing nothing, or doing something so crazy as to make sacrifices to Satan. Don’t like this? Too bad. I only preach the truth of The Bible. We see in Hebrews 13:16 that we are not to forget to do good and to share with others because these are the kinds of sacrifices that God is well pleased with in our lives. This does not mean to stop doing good because you don’t like the way that someone cuts their hair as some False Churches do today.
We see in Hebrews 13:17 that we are to obey those put in authority over us because it is unprofitable for us if we don’t obey authority figures. This simple means it is God Who has put those in places of power over us in our government. Don’t like the officials that are in office? Vote them out, but don’t speak against them, and/or disobey them in any way. Do you know what happens when you break the law? You go to prison, but if you try to kill a law enforcement officer, then you will probably get killed.
Yet, there are False Churches that teach it is ok to rebel against authority, and to speak out against those in office. These False Churches are going directly against what The Bible teaches, and they are teaching others to do so as well. We see in Hebrews 13:18 that we are to pray for all True Christians because they desire to live honorably in their lives. This does not mean to not pray for them because False Churches teach that you shouldn’t pray for each other.
We see in Hebrews 13:19 that we are urged to pray for True Christians for them to be able to come visit us in our church. There are False Churches that teach that you must pray for True Christians to suffer, and to die in order for them to be able to live in sin without having the truth preached to them. We must always pray for all people, and even more so for those in our churches.
We see in Hebrews 13:20 that The Lord is The God of peace, and that He brought our Lord Jesus Christ from the dead via the everlasting covenant. There are False Churches that teach that The Lord is a God of hate, but that is just a lie from the pits of hell, from demons, and from Satan. There are also False Churches that claim that Jesus Christ was never risen from the dead. History proves that He did rise from the dead, and that is not using The Bible at all to prove this point.
We see in Hebrews 13:21 that The Lord makes us complete in every good work to do His will through Jesus Christ, Who has glory forever and ever. There are False Churches that teach that The Lord only wants to destroy us, but they are lying because Satan has only come to steal, kill, and to destroy, not The Lord Jesus Christ. We see in Hebrews 13:22 that we are to bear the word of exhortation. This means we are to help build others up in their lives.
There are False Churches that teach that we should make people feel hopeless in order to draw them into church. Who in any state of mind will be drawn to a church that treats them as they are hopeless? Not a single person at all, and yet these False Churches can’t seem to understand why their congregation is not growing. We should always be exhorting people to encourage them, and to show them that they have hope in our churches. This is how we increase our congregations.
We see in Hebrews 13:23 that Timothy was mentioned by name here. This is to teach us that we must name those who will speak in our church as a guest speaker in order for us to pray for that person’s safety as well as their message. There are False Churches that teach that if a person is not part of their church, then they are not to be prayed for at all, or to even be mentioned by name.
We see in Hebrews 13:24 that we are to greet those who rule over us, and all who come into our churches. It does not matter what they wear, and/or what they look like at all. You are to greet them, which shows mannerisms, and proper etiquette. There are False Christians that refuse to greet anyone that they think is lower than them in life, and these False Christians have eternity as their reward. Eternity in hell for putting themselves on a pedestal in order to look down on others in judgment, which The Bible teaches against at all times.
We see in Hebrews 13:25 that we are to wish grace to all people in agreement of this as well as all teachings from The Bible. That is what the word “Amen” means. It means “so be it,” “let it be,” and/or “let it be so,” along with other variations of this meaning in life. There are False Churches that teach that people are not to wish grace, and/or well-being on others. I agree with these False Churches only up to a point.
I used to be part of The Occult, and people who have not been part of it claim falsely (yes you can claim something falsely about something that is false, such as claiming the false thing is a true thing, which would make the claim false about the false thing) that “wishing” is a way to use magic. However, “wishing” is not a way to use magic at all. For example, I can wish for fire all day long, and I will never get fire.
However, if I used magic, then I could create fire to get the fire I wanted. Wishing does nothing magically, and it is just another word for hoping. So, when we hope for something, we are wishing for that something. Therefore it is not wrong to wish, or hope for things that are good, such as grace for others.
That is all for this Bible Study. I know this was very long, and I am not apologizing for that. I also know that my writing style may be different from what you may have read before, and I am not apologizing for that either. I just type how The Lord leads me to type using my own abilities, knowledge. I hope this post has enlightened you to what True Christians should be doing compared to what False Christians are doing, and for you to know which way makes sense to do in your life. Please share this with everyone you know. God bless you all.
